Before this theme, we tried a lot of themes, but did’nt liked anyone. So soon I will be developing my own theme, I am learning some stuff to have my grip on them.

So here I start my tech blogging once again for this new domain. The updates for the previous stuff is new categories, rubbish content deleted, although Digital Lounge links are still there, I will be updating it soon.

Blogging is getting easier as new ways are coming for userfriendly blogging experience along with new CMS systems for different needs and types of blogging.

This tutorial is about Installing a CMS locally on Windows Xp, process is same for many of the CMS so here I’ll write about how to install wordpress.

Important Note: CMS need a webserver mysql or php to run, locally this function is done by XAMP Lite. Xamp is a localserver easy to setup, easy to run, easy to tweak. It is so easy that you will install you own wordpress or CMS locally in just 10 minutes.

1. Get XAMP Lite (for Windows) and Install it in “C:\” Drive

2. Browse and go to C:\xampplite there double click setup_xampp or setup_xampp.bat

3. Once that is done, double click xampp-control.exe and click on start the Apache and Mysql services.

Note: Certain errors can resist and service may not start. One error may be about mysql or apache is busy. For that simply go to Start > Run > type cmd a command line interface will open, there type iisreset / stop after 3 sec iis service will be stopped, then try to start that service again. (or get more info on this here).

4. Now open your browser (may it be Firefox, I.E, Safari, Opera etc) and go to this address: http://localhost/. From the menu on the left column, choose your preferred language. Although english is default if your PC is on English language by default.

5. Now that the interface displays a language that you can understand, click on phpMyAdmin (on the left column once again)

6. Enter “wordpress” (without quotes) in the “Create New Database” Field, and select utf8_unicode_ci in the drop down box in the next field (as shown in the picture below). Click on Create. The Xampp setup is now complete.

It is needed by wordpress CMS, for certain other CMS or another wordpress installation, you can name it as you like, simply mention it as it is while in installation process.

7. Download Wordpress and unzip it under c:\xampplite\htdocs.

8. Upto this step we have a wordpress folder in c:\xampplite\htdocs. Browse and go to the folder, and you will see a file named wp-config-sample.php. Open it in your text editor and replace the default values by the ones you as follows (below). Save the file with the changes as wp-config.php (under the same folder). Note we have removed the “-sample” in the file name.

So as this time time when blogger introduced the Scheduled Post feature, Jack updated me, but then I was unable to make a scheduled post, I did what Jack wrote there.

But I was amazed to see the blue logo there at what Jack showed there in one of the pic, but was unable to understand. Then at some other blog I found that one should have to be signed in via Blogger Draft, then you can make (actually testing this feature) a scheduled post. Jack please update it.

Finally how to do it

Simply log in to Blogger Draft, select your blog, write a post and change it’s date and time to earlier time and simply post that post, and you are done. Post will appear at right time.

What is to ponder is the tactic by google for its users in each and every service. It is google manipulated results in its search facility. One is very bad and one is something like good for some but bad for me. Good one first to understand the second one.

Google is very strong in its policies as it shares the main lead in searching, so it dont want to benefit its rivals or competing portals from it. The one most prominent example is of Bitvertiser, it is something not close to google to adsense but it is competant to google adsense in almost many ways as it offers ads in feeds also like google. Even google feed service feed burner can also be integrated with bitvetiser. But try to search this Bitvertiser from GOogle search, not only the bitvertiser pages are deleted even the main page listing is deleted. So pathetic. Consider how many services then be deleted from their search queries, which is altogether a bad user experience. It is against SEO (Search Enging Optimisation).

Second one is also something related to manipulated results. Google by default is now recording the habits of your search to offer you future results according to your searching habbits, it is fine for many users as they really follow their routine, even google depicts this in their yearly zeitgeist. Try to look Pakistan’s searching trends.

So, How it is not good ? Consider me, I user their search engine as the resource center for studying resource for my university assignments and on the other hand as a resource for blogging the tech news at my tech blog, which is although not new or lates but a few days old. What I am trying to say is that my blogging search comes mainly from blogs and from the deep internet websites, but when I search for my assignments I need results from the professional covering websites as well as the language should also be good enough to reckon the authenticity of the material or text content.

How?
- Simply download RC version (Release Candidate) and set-up it on locally. There you can check most of the templates plus one can also play with themes and other risky things.

People still can order their designs but in exchange of a post and not from shop of entrecard. But I may also open the shop at any time with reasonable price but for that I need time to design which I lack most nowadays. Blogging is what I only can manage.
